Baiduri Capital Hosts Bonds, Exchange Traded Funds Seminar

Baiduri Capital hosted two investment experts yesterday for a two-part seminar on the topics of bonds and exchange traded funds at the Mutiara Ballroom of Radisson Hotel.

 


Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha, Director of Baiduri Capital, in his welcoming remark said, "From these seminars, we hope to keep you updated and well informed of the current market trends. Hopefully this will prepare you in strategising your investments and making informed decisions."

 


The first speaker was Richmond Zhan Qiwen, a fixed income product specialist from the PhillipCapital Group with coverage on both retail and institutional accounts both locally and overseas.

 


He has over 10 years of experience in the financial industry in equities/fixed income dealing and has spent more than four years covering global credits including sovereign and corporate credit.

 


Richmond, covered an introduction to fixed income and bonds. The highlights include choosing a suitable bond to trade, depending on an individual's investment goals and risk appetite.

 


He also elaborated more about bonds as an asset class and how investing in bonds may provide a balance and extra stability in one's portfolio.

 


The second speaker was Richard Jio Eng Wah, a dealing manager of the PhillipCapital Group. He has over 10 years of dealing and advisory experience in the financial industry and is a regular contributor to Phillip Capital's market watch educational programme where he keeps a close tab on cross asset dynamics and actively highlights the potential implication for equity market to his clients.

 


In his presentation, he talked about the benefits of exchange traded funds such as diversification, transparency and minimal costs that allow investors to achieve market returns during volatile periods.

 


Richard Jio also highlighted how exchange traded funds, can be utilised as a tool to invest in multiple asset classes and different markets.

 


Also present was Peng Eng Soon, General Manager of Baiduri Capital.
