Nothing hits the spot more than driving up to the order window, scrambling through loose change, and ordering yourself a takeaway to enjoy in the comfort of your very own car. However, it can be frustrating to have to deal with unnecessary mess as we struggle with where to place the abundance of sauces and catch excess crumbs as we dine.

One of the biggest bugbears within the car is that as we munch down on a takeaway meal, we're unable to spread out our food before us - and end up rummaging through a paper bag to retrieve items of choice. However, a woman's video has rectified this issue by sharing a hack that not only catches mess, but also acts as a temporary table for you to dine on.

In a now viral video, having exceeded a whopping 400,000 views to date, Molly Cooper classed herself as a "genius" for her hack, which has claims to resolve the issue.

In the clip, which was posted to popular video-streaming service TikTok, Molly made use of her parcel shelf while tucking into some food from Nando's.

The TikToker captioned the post: "I’m a genius - for people who love to eat in the car."

Whilst Molly and a pal tucked into a Nando's, they stumbled across a way to form a table - and people are claiming that the hack has "changed [their] life".

"The best eating in a car situation, are you ready for this hack?!" She exclaimed.

"Go in your boot and get the parcel shelf out," she said as she let viewers in on the secret.

The video's camera panned to the laps of those in the passenger and driving seat, where the item that is commonly used as a shelf in the boot of the car stood as an acting lap tray.

Fellow TikTok users were undoubtedly stunned by the discovery as many shared their gratitude for the hack in the comment section.

"You have changed my life," one gushing user claimed.

"Or just use your lap so you don’t have to get in and out of your car," a second user suggested.

Molly replied: " there’s not enough room for all the food… and the sauces fall on the floor…"

"You can actually buy a tray that clips on to your wheel from amazon it’s unreal," a third person suggested.
