BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

It is vital for stakeholders to come together and contribute towards accurately diagnosing Brunei Darussalam's capacity for digital innovation, as well as developing concrete projects that position the country as a digital leader in the region, with the Digital Economy Masterplan as a platform and also adopting the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This was underlined by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications at the Digital Innovation Profile Co-Creation Workshop.

Ingenieur Mohammad Nazri bin Mohammad Yusof, also reminded stakeholders to consider a whole-of-nation agenda for digital transformation in order for these efforts to be successful. At the workshop, the International Telecommunication Union, ITU shared the assessing tools that attending stakeholders can use to gauge where Brunei stands in the entrepreneurial lifecycle. Stakeholders then brainstormed on the required components to ensure that they are able to materialize the vision for Wawasan Brunei 2035 and co-create appropriate recommendations for the further development of its ICT innovation ecosystem. The results of the assessment tools can be used periodically in order to monitor the status of the Brunei ICT industry landscape and plan next steps. The workshop was held at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunication, and attended by representatives from Government Agencies, Private sector, Academia, Entrepreneurial support networks, Finance sector and Entrepreneurs.
