​Two individuals were sentenced by the Magistrate's Court under the Excise Order 2006 for possessing customs' prohibited items.

A permanent resident, Fam Siew Liang, was found to possess 76 cartons and 123 packs of cigarettes of various brands as well as 58 bottles of alcoholic drink of various brands. The offender pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a $80,500 fine or 25 months imprisonment in default.

Meanwhile, a Malaysian, Wong Tuck Wei, was found to possess 461 units of vape and 53 units of vape accessories. The offender pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a fine of $34,100 or 15 months imprisonment in default.
