The Ministry of Health (MoH) held a gathering yesterday, to mark the Hijrah New Year of 1438, during which Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, the Minister of Health, was present as the guest of honour.
Around 200 officers, heads of departments and staff members attended the event, which also coincided with a thanksgiving ceremony for the safe return of the medical team travelling with Brunei pilgrims during the recent Haj.
A special talk, titled Hijrah Solat', was delivered by by Ustaz Mohd Khairul Nazif bin Haji Awang Damit, an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Usuluddin at the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), which focused on the migration of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the rules of Islamic prayer according to the Mazhab Shafi'e.
The event continued with the mass recital of Dikir Marhaban, and concluded with a sprinkling of scented flowers on the newly returned Haj pilgrims.
