BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN
In conjunction with the 46th anniversary of Bandar Brunei's name change to Bandar Seri Begawan, a blood donation campaign was organised yesterday by the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department in collaboration with the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital's Blood Donation Centre.
The campaign, held at the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Department's Depot Multipurpose Hall in Kampong Belimbing, Subok, was attended by the BSB Municipal Board's Acting Chairman, Haji Ali bin Matyassin, who also took part in the blood donation.
The department's employees and members of the public were seen lining up for brief health check-ups that were conducted by the medical officers prior to donating blood.
The objectives of the campaign were to raise awareness among the community to support the Blood Donation Centre as well as to motivate and encourage employees and the public to help save other people's lives through blood donations.
