MD Crowned Storytelling Competition

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College (Maktab Duli) emerged as champions in the finals of the 2016 Group Storytelling Competition with their story 'Si Kasian (Si Miskin)', and walked away with a cash prize of $600.

 


Meanwhile second place went to Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School with their story 'Guru oh Guru' and they walked away with a cash prize of $500, while placing third was Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD) with their story `Membaca Pemangkin Generasi Celik Pandai' and they brought home a cash prize of $400.

 


A total of 17 groups participated and three groups were chosen for the finals, which took place at Digadong Hall at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

 


The prizes were presented by the guest of honour, Hajah Nortijah binti Haji Mohd Hassan, Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau. The competition was organised by the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) with the theme, `Bangsa Membaca Bangsa Berjaya' (a nation that reads is a nation that succeeds).

 


The competition aimed to encourage youths to love reading books and at the same time provide them a platform in achieving intelligence, mental development and competence.
