BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Around 30 members of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Mosque's Muslimah Committee in Kampong Rimba yesterday took part in a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the completion of the recitation of 30 Juzuks (chapters) of the Holy Quran.

The event's guest of honour was the wife of the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ustazah Hajah Sarimah binti Haji Abu Bakar.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation of Surah AI-Fatihah led by the guest of honour, followed by the recitation of verses of the AlQuran by the Khatam participants. The Takhtim was afterwards recited by the Husna Nurulain group, followed by a recitation of Doa Khatam by Hajah Dayang binti Haji Salleh.

The highlights of the event were the Dikir Marhaban performance, while the Khatam AlQuran participants were sprinkled with scented flowers and perfume as they walked past the guests, as well as the presentation of certificates to participants by the guest of honour.

The ceremony ended with a recitation of Doa Selamat.

Among the event's objectives were to strengthen relations among the Muslimah Committee members, as well as to instil love and interest among the participants towards reading the Holy Quran as a regular practice in their everyday lives.
