A Taiwanese man was sentenced by the Magistrate's Court yesterday for an offence under Section 146(1)(d) of the Excise Order 2006.

54-year-old Mohd Zain bin Abdullah alias Wu Kuo Zhao, was found guilty for possessing 193 cartons of various brands of cigarettes during the 'Operasi Sepadu' conducted by the Law Enforcement Division, Royal Customs and Excise Department together with officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau on 18th of August. The offender pleaded guilty and was fined $186,400 or 24 months imprisonment in default. All goods involved were confiscated to be destroyed.
