Customs Contraband Seized

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

​The Royal Customs and Excise Department discovered a large haul of contraband during two operations conducted recently in Seria, Belait District. A 58-year-old local male, 2 permanent resident male aged 22 and 33, and a 61-year-old permanent resident female were also detained for possessing contraband, namely 5,604 vape juice, pods and e-liquids; 3,982 vape accessories and 85 vape mod; 870 cans and 158 bottles of alcoholic drinks; 41 cartons and 7 sticks of cigarettes; 30 boxes and 73 firecrackers; dried leaves believed to be Cannabis weighing 61.1 grams; cash amounting $25,498 Brunei dollars and $3,228 Singapore dollars believed to be proceeds from contraband sales; and a mobile phone believed to be used in contraband sales activities.

 

The contraband were seized and the suspects were brought to the Law Enforcement Office for further investigation.
