​The Swearing-In Ceremony for new members of the Legislative Council who were appointed on the 20th of January 2023 took place on 28th January, at Dewan Persidangan, Department of Councils. The ceremony was in accordance to Article 49 of the Constitution of Brunei Darussalam, in which every Member of the Legislative Council shall, before entering upon the duties of his office and taking his seat, take or make and subscribe before the Speaker of the Legislative Council an oath or declaration.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council. The newly appointed members of the Legislative Council comprise of Ex-Officio Members; Titled Persons; Persons Who Have Achieved Distinction; and District Representatives.

  Ex-Officio Members consist of Cabinet Ministers.

Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa bin Pehin Datu Perdana Manteri Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Ibrahim;

Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seria Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman;

Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Padula Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof;
