The man who groped a female jogger near the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium was sentenced to jail for six months with one stroke of whipping yesterday after he pleaded guilty to the charges of outraging the modesty of the woman.

Dini bin Masir, aged 30, groped the buttocks and breast of the 30-year-old victim whilst she jogged past the defendant at a bus stop fronting the Bolkiah Camp at Jalan Perdana Menteri at 5.45pm on October 10, 2016.

The woman who was outraged shouted at him.

The defendant then forcefully pushed the victim to the side and ran to his car parked nearby and fled the scene.

Several joggers came to the defendant's assistance as she shouted for help. the other joggers ran towards the defendant's car and stood in front of it blocking its way.

The defendant managed to drive away, however, the victim managed to take down the defendant's car registration number and gave it to the police in her report at the Berakas Police Station.

DPP Zuraidah. Sidek brought the case before Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman.
