The Magistrate's Court ordered the prosecution to further probe a mysterious case of a man who allegedly threatened to share nude pictures of his wife on social media.

The 24-year-old man was charged with the assault of his 23-year-old wife at 3.20pm on October 1 in a bedroom of a house at Kampong Pekilong Muara.

He was also alleged to have threatened to tarnish his wife's reputation around 8pm Pandan 'A' by uploading pictures of her in the nude on social media.

Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid ordered DPP Zuraidah Sidek to have the Women and Children Abuse Investigation Unit of CID police finalise investigations into the case and adjourned it to November 3, 2016.

The defendant was released on bail of $3,000 or in two local sureties attached with strict conditions until the case's next mention.

Each charge carries a maximum imprisonment of three years and fine, or both.
