The fuming person wrote: "The couple that has lived upstairs from me finally had a child and they just stick the damn thing in an automatic baby rocker that thumps and I can hear it through the ceiling and the walls.
"It is such a steady and fast-paced thump that if I'm in the room directly below it, it feels like my brain starts to swell and I start getting dizzy. It's been driving me insane. They run it from 9pm to 3am and then it's back on at 6 or 8 am again. It's 11am now and still on currently.
"I have a music studio towards the front of the house, so I've resorted to just blasting dubstep and music with deep bass so that they can surely hear it.
"They've constantly made it a point to be loud because the girl in the couple used to know me from high school and her husband just doesn't like me", they claimed, but they said they were so fed up of the noise they were "ready to do what it takes to p*** them off."
They said that they'd been being noisy for a while, saying that "first it was them kicking off their shoes and letting them drop to the floor when they were getting into bed", then they'd watched a dog for months and it would "run back and forth barking nonstop" and now the issue was the "stupid baby."
They finished the post with: "Any ideas on how to get the message across? Are there any frequencies I can play through the walls to annoy them? Something subtle but annoying would be the best bet I think."
In the comments, people suggested reasonable ways they could get around the issue.
One wrote: "Maybe gift them a rug or mat (like a welcome mat) they can put under the rocker to dull the thumping? Obviously, it's not your responsibility to solve the problem but it may help you from going too crazy."
Another said: "I suggest that you invite them over so that they can hear what it sounds like for themselves. I would like to believe that once they heard it, they would be more thoughtful though it sounds like that may not work either. Good luck with that! That sounds extremely frustrating."
"Which is worse? A crying baby or the thumping sound?", someone questioned. "Gift them a rug or rubber mat. If they're new parents, they're probably desperate right now."
