Environmental Issues And Solutions Will Be Discussed

​In conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition, MYCE this year, the Environment week that carries the theme 'Road Towards a Sustainable Environment Hash Tag BeTheSolution' will take place for 3 days starting the 26th of June 2023. It will take place at the Chancellor Hall of Universiti Brunei Darussalam. According to the a Senior Environment Officer, the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, JASTRe will be the Joint Secretary of the Brunei MYCE 2023 Working Committee for Environment Week. The event will feature four thematic sessions.

 

Dayang Hajah Norharniah binti Haji Jumat said the first thematic session will be Plastic Pollution, and this includes marine debris, an issue that has gained global attention for the past several years. The second thematic session will be on flammable refrigerant management, in which a book will be promoted as a safety guideline for managing and handling new alternative gases that are ozone friendly.

 

Meanwhile, the third thematic session will be on a topic that is relevant with sustainable development, whereas the fourth session will focus on nature based solutions. Organised by the Ministry of Development through JASTRe, the sessions will not only highlight and discuss environmental issues, but also the solutions and ways to address said issues from various perspectives.
