​The Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB, Ministry of Religious Affairs, held a Haj Package Payment Presentation Ceremony to Darussalam Services Sendirian Berhad and Straits Central Agencies Brunei Sendirian Berhad as well as a Presentation of Pocket Money to 16 New Converts who were selected and meet the conditions to receive the haj fare from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony took place on 29th May morning, at Dewan Multaqa, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The presentation was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as President of MUIB. The selected new converts received haj fare from His Majesty according to the rate given to Government Officials which is as much as $4,500 per person. Each person was given $15,100 to pay for the packages they chose; as well as pocket money amounting to Two Thousand Dollars for personal expenses.

The ceremony coincided with a Tazkirah or Talk to reap the chance of a blessed haj reward. The Tazkirah titled "Penghayatan Ibadah Haji" was delivered by Awang Haji Badaruddin bin Haji Basar, Assistant Head of Dakwah Dissemination Division for Counseling, Islamic Da'wah Centre.
