A total of 70 officials from various government ministries yesterday attended the first day of a four-day Islamic Strengthening Course on "Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama'ah", organised by the Islamic Da'wah Centre (PDI), at the Al-Mauizzah Room of the Darul Huda Building.

Present to facilitate the four-day course was Ustaz Haji Anwari bin Haji Rawee, an officer of PDI.

Various topics will be delivered to the participants such as history of the emergence of Ahli Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah, its definition, its characteristics, matters related to As Sam'iyyat and Al Ghaibiyyat and also, groups that deviate from the true teaching of the Ahli Sunnah Wal-Jama'ah.

The objectives of the course were to provide the participants with the proper understanding and enhance their knowledge on matters related to the Islamic teachings of the Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama'ah through in-depth information as well as explanation.

In addition, it also aimed towards exposing the features of deviant teachings according to Ahli Sunnah Wal Jama'ah to the participants so they would not be influenced by deviant beliefs and understanding.

The participants of the course is hoped to be able to enhance their understanding so that it can be practiced as part of their daily routines and appreciate the Islamic teachings with confidence and devotion to Allah the Almighty.
