A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight from Milan to Singapore was delayed for more than 24 hours, after the aircraft “encountered a technical issue” while on the ground.
There were 255 passengers and 18 crew members on board flight SQ377, said the airline.
According to flight schedules, flight SQ377 was supposed to have departed Milan at 1pm local time (7pm Singapore time) on Friday (Oct 28) when the incident occurred.
An SIA spokesperson said: “As the engineers on ground required more time to fix the issue, a decision was made to delay the flight and passengers disembarked normally.”
The airline had arranged for hotel accommodation and meals in Milan for the affected passengers.
The revised timing for SQ377 to depart Milan is 2pm on Saturday (Milan time), and is expected to arrive in Singapore at 7.40am, Sunday (Singapore time), added the SIA spokesperson.
According to flight data, Friday’s flight was operated by a 9-year-old Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
