Locals Sentenced for Commiting Theft, Mischief

Two local men were sentenced by the Magistrate's Court yesterday for theft and mischief. Mohd Hussien bin Ali Safari, 24, was sentenced to a jail term of one year and three months and a fine of $1,400, or 10 weeks jail in default of payment.
Mohd Alizam bin Haji Zaimin was ordered to pay a fine of $1,100, or serve eight weeks jail in default of payment. Both committed thefts from a stall at the Jerudong market and a house at Kg Sengkurong in September and October 2016.
The defendants also committed mischief by causing damages in the course of the thefts.
Prosecutor Dr Hussin All Idris represented the Public Prosecutor in the case. Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid presided over the case.
