His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam then attended the Official State Welcoming Ceremony that took place at the Presidential Palace “Hor Kham". Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

His Majesty was welcomed upon arrival by His Excellency Thongloun Sisoulith. The Ceremony began with both leaders proceeding to the Special Dais to receive the Salute of Honour accompanied by the National Anthem of both countries and a twenty-one gun salute. The ceremony continued with the inspection of the Guard of  Honour mounted by members of the Lao People's Armed Forces.

His Majesty was then introduced to Cabinet Ministers of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, followed with the introduction of Brunei Darussalam's delegation to His Excellency the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
