His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah expresses deep concern over the recent escalation of violence in Palestine, and urged all parties to cease violence, exercise maximum restraint and uphold international humanitarian law to prevent its potential spread across the Middle East region. His Majesty calls on the international community and the U.N. Security Council to facilitate efforts in achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East, including resolving the decades-long plight of the Palestinian people. His Majesty delivered the titah while attending the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council, G.C.C. Summit held at the Ritz Carlton, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The summit discussions were focused on the future direction of ASEAN-G.C.C. cooperation as well as on regional and international issues of common concern. Accompanying His Majesty to the Summit was His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

His Majesty was greeted on arrival at the Ritz Carlton by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The ASEAN-G.C.C. Summit began with welcoming remarks by the Co-Chairs, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia; and His Excellency Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia and ASEAN Chair for this year. His Majesty in the titah also highlights the longstanding cultural and historical ties between ASEAN and the G.C.C., and serves as a strong foundation for close partnership between the two regions.

As responsible members of the global community, His Majesty emphasises the importance of jointly addressing challenges such as climate change and looked forward to working together, through the ASEAN Centre for Climate Change, to find innovative solutions and long-term strategies for the region. In this regard, His Majesty appreciates Saudi Arabia's interest to sign an M.O.U with the Centre; and congratulated the UAE on its leadership role at the upcoming 28th Conference of Parties of the U.N.F.C.C.C. and in issuing the first Global Stocktake report.

At the end of the Summit, the Joint Statement of the Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, G.C.C., and the ASEAN GC.C. Statement on the Developments in Gaza were issued. In addition, the ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council Framework of Cooperation 2024-2028 was noted.

His Majesty then attended an Official Luncheon of the ASEAN-G.C.C. Summit held at the Ritz Carlton, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Luncheon was held to celebrate ASEAN-G.C.C. Heads of State and Government as well as delegations attending the ASEAN-G.C.C. Summit.
