Guilin To Launch New Direct Flights To ASEAN Countries

Guilin plans to launch new non-stop flights to ASEAN countries as soon as possible to attract more tourists from the region, according to local authorities.

 

Ma Tieqiao, Chairman of the Guilin Junda Transport Company gave an interview to ASEAN media last month that, before pandemic outbreak, Guilin attracted over 10 million foreign tourists every year. Out of whom, tourists from ASEAN countries shared 30 percent.

 

After the reopening of China, Guilin resumed high-speed rail (HSR) to Hong Kong and non-stop flights to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and accelerated the construction of key projects including the ease of traffic congestion and Sponge City.

 

As we well know, Guilin as one of the first historical and cultural cities in China and considered to be the pearl of China's thriving tourist industry on account of the natural beauty and historic treasures.

 

In recent years, Guilin, oriented at becoming a world-class landscape tourism city, a world-class destination of cultural tourism, a world-class wellness and recreational resort, and a world-class tourist consumption centre.

 

Currently, Guilin is speeding up the development toward a world-class tourism city, and improves the smart tourism service system, to attract both domestic and international tourists.

 

Bounyong Xayvongsa, a Lao year-two PhD student from Guangxi Normal University gave an interview to the Lao News Agency that, the best tourist site of Guanxi province is Guilin city, and interestingly, Lijiang river is the most beautiful river and beautiful scenery full of natural charm.

 

He further said that when he arrived in Guilin, he felt like he was living in another world of happiness because of its spectacular natural landscapes, and night time. He cruised Guihu Lake to see many scenic spots in the city. “You should not miss doing such a thing when you are in China,” said Bounyong.

 

Today, Guilin is gaining popularity among domestic and foreign tourists, especially those from ASEAN, Western European countries, Hongkong, and other countries.
