'Operasi Kabat'

​The Law Enforcement Division of Immigration and National Registration Department, Bandar Seri Begawan has conducted an 'Operasi Kabat' focused on a Learning Centre in Mukim Berakas 'B'. During the operation, eight foreign nationals were detained for further investigation.

 

Three of them were believed to have overstayed after their immigration passes expired; One was believed to be working not with the original employer; another 4 were taken to the Law Enforcement Division for failing to show valid documents.

 

From the operation, two individuals were charged under the Immigration Act, Chapter 15(i) which is overstaying after their immigration passes expired. The two Indonesian women, Neneng Rohayati, 47 and Sarintan, 58, were sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and fined one thousand dollars in exchange for a whipping. They failed to pay the fine and were sentenced to 5 months imprisonment.
