BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A group of five students from Kemuda Institute alongside their educator visited Telekom Brunei Berhad's (TelBru) Sumbiling Telephone House in the capital yesterday as part of their educational module related to the telecommunications industry.

Alongside their lecturer, the Kemuda delegation were taken to see first-hand TelBru's facilities related to their course, specifically the setting up of an IT network, with briefings conducted by Tell3ru staff of which focussed on the technology behind TelBru's services.

The accompanying lecturer, Amal Nadiah binti Md Yusoff, shared that their visit to institutions such as Tell3ru aimed to broaden students' horizons beyond the classroom and exposing them to real-life experience in line with her class syllabus with particular emphasis on setting up an IT network.

"TelBru was the best organisation for us to refer to especially since it is the major telecommunication company in Brunei," she said. "The students were able to understand the nature of networking through effective presentations, which can benefit our students."

Sumbiling Telephone House is one of TelBru's longstanding signature buildings comprising mostly the major technical operations and maintenance station points such as telephony cables, broadband links, IT control centre and server links.

As the premier telecommunications provider in the country that encourages learning among the younger generation, TelBru welcomes related learning delegations to be part of the company's corporate values that supports life-long learning.
