25 Secondary School Teachers Visit Golden Corporation

A group of 25 Tutong secondary school teachers and six officers from the Academic Unit, Department of Schools went on an educational visit to Golden Corporation Sdn Bhd on Thursday.

 

The teachers were from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School, Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, Muda Hashim Secondary School, Tanjong Maya Secondary School and Sayyidina Othman Secondary School.

 

After a briefing by the staff of Golden Corporation, they were given a tour of the facilities including the various production lines and learning about their specific requirements. The group also looked at the quality assurance
processes, the importance of food safety and the company's integrated seafood-processing efforts.

 


The visit was led by Cikgu Hajah Lena binti Mohd Hassan, Acting Assistant Director and Head of Programme and Academic Section, Department of Schools. It was an initiative by the Department of Schools to provide opportunity for Pre-Vocational Programme teachers to identify key work skills and work attachment opportunities for students.

 

In a press release, Golden Corporation expressed pleasure at the opportunity to work with the department to support the development of local student's working skills.
