BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

A film screening of a 2014 Swiss film 'Deux Jours Avec Mon Pere' directed by Anne Gonthier was held last night at the Alliance Francaise de Brunei's Headquarters in Batu Bersurat as part of the programme of the French Bruneian Arts Festival 2016 this month.

About 25 people attended the film screening, made up of both the public and members of the Alliance Francaise de Brunei. Speaking to the Media, Yann Carpentier, Director of Alliance Francaise de
Brunei, explained the reason they screened the film was because it is a very good family film.

Yann explained that the movie is about a seriously ill old man who refuses to wait for his death. Instead, he escaped the hospital he was in to live in the mountains where his grandfather used to take him as a child in search of fossils. The old man was joined by his estranged son who went off to look for him.

The movie is in French but includes English subtitles. The end of the screening also saw a small discussion about the film amongst those present.
