His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, continued the official visit to Japan with a visit to the Anegasaki Thermal Power Station in Ichihara. Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Hisahude Okuda, President of Japan's New Energy for a New Era, JERA; Kentaro Saga, Director of the Anegasaki Thermal Power Station; and Kazunori Kasai, Senior Managing Executive Officer, JERA.

During the visit, His Royal Highness was presented with a briefing on JERA – a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company and Chubu Electric Power – which operates the Anegasaki Thermal Power Station, as well as the background on the station. His Royal Highness also had the opportunity to visit the Central Control Room, which is the command center of the station, as well as the Turbine Number ONE Building. With a capacity of 3 point 1-5 gigawatts, Anegasaki Thermal Power Station is the first digital power plant built by JERA. Over the past five decades, Japanese companies like JERA have been Brunei Darussalam's foundation customers for energy. Similarly, Brunei Darussalam is committed to continue its role as a reliable energy supplier to meet the energy security needs of Japan, with supplies to JERA and other customers in Japan.
