The sighting of the new moon of Syawal for 1445 Hijrah will be held on Tuesday, 29 Ramadhan 1445 Hijrah, corresponding to the 9th of April 2024. Syarie judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, Prime Minister's Office as well as officers from the Survey Department, Ministry of Development will be stationed at several designated locations to sight the new moon of Syawal.

The designated venues are DST Tower at Tungku Highway, Tanjung Batu Recreational Park in Kampung Sabun, and Bukit Agok in Jerudong for Brunei Muara District. In Tutong District, it will be at Bukit Ambog, and Bukit Lumut in Belait District. In this regard, members of the public are advised not to approach said locations. The announcement of 1st Syawal 1445 Hijrah will be broadcast on Radio Television Brunei as soon as the result of the sighting is obtained.
