First Meeting of Royal Birthday Celebration National Committee

​The involvement of the citizens and residents in the country during the His Majesty the Sultan  and Yang  Di- Pertuan  of Brunei  Darussalam's birthday celebrations not only further enlivens the celebration but also reflects the harmonious life of the people regardless of background, race and religion. Yang  Berhormat  Dato  Seri  Setia  Awang  Haji  Ahmaddin bin  Haji Abdul  Rahman,  Minister of Home Affairs as the co-chairman of National Committee for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 78th birthday celebration for 2024 explained the matter at the First Meeting of the National Committee. The meeting took place on 4th April morning, at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 

The Minister of Home Affairs said that the involvement of the young generation including school students is a symbol of the strengthening of self-identity and national spirit that are the core of Brunei Darussalam's development and progress today and in the future. Such commitment is proof of our love and undivided loyalty towards His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam as the country's Monarch and highest leader that is always caring and attentive towards the well-being of the lives of the country's people.

 

The meeting was co-chaired by the Minister of Home Affairs;

Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs;

Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence;

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health;

Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education;

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports;

And Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti as the Co-Chairmen of the Celebration's National Committee.

 

The meeting among other matters discussed the report of preparations of celebratory events. Also present was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Grand Chamberlain.
