​ASEAN Joint Workshop 'Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD), on the Implementation of the ASEAN Guidelines on Promoting Responsible Investment in the Food, Agriculture and Forestry Sector' was held to strengthen cooperation inter-parliamentary regional, in creating responsible agricultural investment in the ASEAN region. The workshop took place in Vientiane, Lao People's Republic, recently.

Among those joined the workshop was Yang Berhormat Awang Lau How Teck and Yang Berhormat Awang Zainol bin Haji Mohamed, Members of the Legislative Council. The workshop is part of a joint effort between AIPA-FAO-IISD by targeting members of parliament to strengthen their involvement in the process of forming an action plan for the implementation of ASEAN RAI at the parliamentary level. The results of the workshop will be discussed for approval during the AIPA General Assembly to be held at the end of this year.
