For many, attempting to join the mile-high club, or getting too drunk on planes are often seen as the worst things holidaymakers can do on flights.

However, it turns out that there are actually some other more disturbing passenger habits that flight attendants are fed up of.

Cabin crew worker Cher (@CherDallas) recently shared some of the worst behaviours she has to regularly deal with in her five years on the job in a video on TikTok and urged people to stop doing these things.

And one of the grossest is a bathroom habit that sees people ending up with wee-covered socks. Ew.

The flight attendant says that ‘at least once a week’ she’ll see someone go to the bathroom without any shoes on.

‘Sometimes with socks, which to me is worse than being barefoot. Now you have soggy, pee-covered socks that you’re wearing for however many hours you’re on the plane. That’s disturbing,’ she tells viewers.

One commenter said ‘it grosses me out so much’ while another said they had to stop eating their lunch.  Several others claimed it made them want to ‘gag’.

However, a different viewer saw the, albeit sarcastic, positive side ‘I like it when people go into the lav with socks on because they soak up all the “water” on the floor and it’s dry for me when I go in with my shoes on. So thoughtful!’

Other bad passenger habits Cher listed included people ignoring her when she says hello or compliments them.

‘I’ll stand there and give somebody a full on compliment like “Hi hello how are you, I love your top!” and they will look at me dead in the face, turn and walk down the aisle and not say a single word’

Though Cher says this one is a bit more understandable because some people find flying really overwhelming. One she doesn’t excuse however is people deliberately taking photos of her in while she’s just trying to work.

‘Not just that I happen to be in it, they’ll literally take their phone and have me doing my job over their shoulder.’ Cher goes on to explain that this isn’t just passengers taking photos because they’re excited to be on the plane

‘I’ll move politely to not be in the selfie but they will twist their phones, and I’m still in it, with 25 chins, because it’s from way below me. The worst angle.’

Cher also confessed that she’s suspicious of people who stand in the galley as it can mean they’re going to help themselves to the trolley

‘If you feel like your flight attendants are giving you side eye for your yoga routine in the galley when we’re not there, it’s just because we’ve seen people go back there to fix themselves a little beverage.’

Despite all this Cher says she still loves her job and passengers

‘We love y’all, and you guys give me really good stories to tell. I love it because my job would be so boring if not.’

This comes after a fellow flight attendant, Natalie Magee, previously shared some other annoying things people do on planes that leave her ‘horrified’.

Unsurprisingly several of these were also about bathroom habits ‘There are so many [pet peeves]. [Such as] when people don’t shut the bathroom door or leave the bathroom a mess.’

‘Also when you can hear it flush but not the sink so you know they didn’t wash their hands.’

Natalie also vented her frustration over people who let their children misbehave ‘I’m also a parent myself, but when people let their kids put stickers on the airplane or draw on it or leave a dirty diaper in the seat back pocket, I’m horrified.’

Some of her other no-nos are people clipping their toenails on the plane, leaving sick bags in their seats and ‘not throwing away their trash when we come through and leaving it on the floor.

Daisy White, a former flight attendant also revealed a handy hack for avoiding toilet smells on a plane.

‘Go for a seat just forward of the wing for a comfier flight and don’t sit near the toilets or galleys – because it can be smelly and noisy’.
