​5 participants will compete in the final of the National Speech Contest. Held in conjunction with the 40th National Day celebration and Language Month, the preliminary round took place at the Language and Literature Bureau in Berakas, 23rd April afternoon.

22 participants competed in the preliminary. Such a competition aims to instil patriotism, where participants are free to choose any suitable topic that are suitable with currents issues that are significant. This includes the development of Malay language, economic development, youth's future, capacity and culture.
