The Self-Identity Programme, PJD is a very important initiative, not only providing opportunities for youth to enhance their skills, but also shaping much-needed aspects of personality such as leadership, resilience, discipline, mental and spiritual strength. The matter was emphasised by the Deputy Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, during the PJD opening ceremony for iSkills cohort 6 students, Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE at the National Service Programme Training Camp, Batu Apoi in Temburong District. Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, also emphasised that the nature of empowerment and discipline is important to instil in every individual, especially among the youth.

Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi said that the students need to be able to overcome failure, face obstructions and move forward with strong determination. Discipline is also very important as talent and skills alone is insufficient to achieve success. In undergoing the programme, it is hoped that the values will be instilled in all students towards meeting the programme's objective of producing an employable and market-ready workforce.

74 trainees comprising students from iSkills cohort 6, IBTE took part in the programme. Also held was a video presentation of the PJD trainees' journey including an industry dialogue session, Career Day, physical and religious activities.
