Building a happy and harmonious family is everyone's responsibility and it can be achieved by implying the sense of respect, politeness, care and tolerance to each other. Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education stated the matter at the Jalinan Kasih family gathering in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration held on 5th May morning, at Kampung Kiulap.

Yang Berhormat stressed that everyone plays a role in building 'My Family, My Hope'.

To realise such hope, family continuous care are important.

It includes food and wear as well as attention to to school from primary, secondary up to higher education level.

Family must also prioritise religious education among the children.

The ceremony gathered generations of Allahyarhamah Dayang Damit binti Abdul Rahman and Allahyarham Awang Safar bin Pehin Orang Kaya Di Gadong Awang Aminuddin. The gathering aimed to know the position of the kinship line through the genealogy chart apart from fostering high family spirit. The ceremony ran concurrently with the presentation of donations to orphans.
