Beads Exhibition: 1000 Years Media Conference

​The Department of Museums, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports will hold the 'Beads Exhibition: 1000 YEARS' in conjunction with International Museum Day 2024. The exhibition will be held for 3 months from 18th May at the Lobby of the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum. A Media Conference to promote the exhibition was held on 16th May morning, at the Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum.

 

According to Pengiran Hajah Mahani binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Deputy Director of Museums, the exhibition will feature the beaded artefacts found at four major archaeological sites in the country, namely Kota Batu, Sungai Limau Manis, Sungai Lumut and the Brunei Shipwreck which dates back between the 10th to 17th centuries. Such an exhibition is hoped appreciate the country's heritage, especially in terms of research, collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge.
