It is obligatory for repentance to be done immediately as people do not know when death will come. According to the State Mufti, repentance must also not be delayed, and people who often repent will be free from all kinds of grief or hardship. In a talk at a launching ceremony for 3 new books published by the State Mufti Department this morning, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti also reminded not to neglect the benefits of repentance, and fully utilise the opportunity to repent for happiness in this world and the Hereafter.

The State Mufti said the sincere intention to repent is all that is needed to repent to Allah.

The books published are: 'Keutamaan Taubat,' 'Penghayatan Nilai-Nilai Islam dalam Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei,' and 'Adab-Adab Dalam Islam.' The ceremony coincided with the handover of book endowments to 6 libraries in the country. Among those present were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain ALIAS Maidin, Deputy State Mufti.
