789 kilogrammes of paper, over 106 kilogrammes of cardboard, over 432 kilogrammes of plastic bottles, nearly 187 litres of used cooking oil, and 259 electronic waste or e-waste were collected for recycling during the Nationwide Recycling Day Initiative. Organised by the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, JASTRe, Ministry of Development in conjunction with the Global Recycling Day 2024, the initiative was held at all districts, 30th June morning. It was one of the government's initiatives to raise the public's awareness on the practice of recycling, apart from introducing recycling services that are available in the country.

In Brunei Muara District, the initiative was conducted by JASTRe Office in Anggerek.

Meanwhile in Belait District, recyclable waste can sent to the JASTRe Office in said district.

For Tutong District, it will be at the district's JASTRe Office. Whereas Taman Muhibah in Bangar Town was the focal point for Temburong District.
