​Muslims are urged to leave all actions that can distract them from focusing on the Friday Sermon. This includes using mobile phones during the sermon, which is an action that is against the sunnah that requires the congregants to remain silent. This was among the content of the Friday Sermon titled the Special Virtues of Friday, which underlined the number of commendable practices that can be done on the said day.

This includes reciting the selawat upon Rasulullah SAW; reading Surah Al-Kahfi; and increasing supplication; listening attentively to the sermon, and perform the Friday prayer. The action of being inattentive during the sermon must be changed as such action is pointless and wasteful.
