Two Indonesian were sentenced respectively for offences under the Prevention of People Smuggling Act, Chapter 229 and Passport Act, Chapter 146.

45-year-old, Hani Rahayu Suarsono was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment after failing to pay a fine of $6,000. Meanwhile, Mala Fatmawati, 24, was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment after failing to pay a fine of $2,500.

The offences were the results of 'Ops Kabat' carried out by the Department of Immigration and National Registration at Sungai Tujoh Control Post, Kuala Belait on 17th of July.
