Two locals were sentenced by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for charges under the Excise Order 2006.

Zarinah Binti Mahmud was fined 56-thousand, three hundred 90 dollars or 15 months imprisonment in default for possessing 53 cartons and 36 packets of cigarettes of various brands.

Meanwhile, Azhrin Hidayat Bin Saidi was fined 51-thousand dollars or 15 months imprisonment in default for possessing 49 cartons and 20 packets of cigarettes of various brands. All contraband items were seized and handed over to the government.
