The public as well as company and business premise owners are reminded to always keep the environment clean, especially at the business premises and public areas. The warning was issued by the Enforcement Unit, Tutong District Office following a compound fine issued to a company for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021, Chapter 30, which is dumping waste at public places.
Salvianah Enterprise in Kampung Serambangun, Tutong District was fined $1,000 and is required to settle the compound fine within seven days. If in default, the company can be brought to court and if found guilty can be fined not less than $2,000, and not more than $10,000. For the second or subsequent offence, a fine not less than $10,000 and not more than $30,000 can be imposed, sentenced to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months or both.
