Islam forbids its ummah from doing any actions that pose a danger to health. The Friday Sermon highlighted on prohibition against cigarettes and smoking: rejecting global harm. The Sermon also underlined that electronic cigarettes or vaping are also harmful to health. Brunei Darussalam State Mufti's Fatwa stated that smoking and vaping are haram according to the syarak.

The sermon pointed out key dangers of vaping. First, nicotine addiction as vape liquids often contain addictive nicotine, posing a significant risk to young users. Second, it can cause lung damage. Harmful chemicals in vape liquids can lead to severe lung injuries. Third, it brings heart risks. Vaping can raise blood pressure and increase the risk of heart disease and strokes. Fourth, impact on teenagers: Nicotine affects brain development.
