​Four companies were issued with compound fines by the Licensing and Enforcement Section, Brunei Muara District Office in separate operations. An individual was also issued a compound fine under the Miscellaneous Offences Act for throwing rubbish at a public area.

 

Under the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Pooman Jaya Sendirian Berhad, and JGC Jaya Sendirian Berhad were issued $2,000 fines respectively, while Q Abad Group was issued a $1,000 compound fine and a $500 compound fine was issued to LSL Sendirian Berhad.

 

The company owners or managers and individuals are reminded not to take the offences lightly.

 

The Licensing and Enforcement Section, Brunei Muara District Office also ordered the company owners or managers and individuals to settle the compound fines immediately as well as to clean up the affected areas.

 

Meanwhile, Khairul Aiman bin Haji Kamal Arifin also received a $100 compound fine. If in default, the case will be brought to court, and if found guilty the individuals can be fined not less than $3,000. Meanwhile, for Companies, not exceeding $30,000; or imprisonment not exceeding 12 months; or both.
