A local man was sentenced by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court on two charges under the Excise Order 2006.

31-year-old MUHAMMAD NOOR AZIM BIN SAMREY, was found in possession of 47 packets of cigarettes of various brands and 3 units of 'Vape Pods' of various brands. The accused pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a fine of $20,000 or 20 months imprisonment in default.

All contraband was seized and handed over to the government.
