The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) and the departments under it continues to hold a Dikir Syarafil Anam ceremony to commemorate the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

The ceremony yesterday was held at Kampong Sungai Hanching Mosque. Another ceremony will held on December 9 at the Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kiarong according to a press release issued by the MCYS.

Present as the guest of honour was Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present were the permanent secretary at the MCYS, senior officials, officers, staff members of the ministry and the departments under it.

The event began with a mass Maghrib prayer and continued with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by the minister followed by the Dikir Syarafil Anam.

The Dikir closing prayer was read by Haji Amron bin Haji Awang, the Imam of the mosque. The ceremony is an annual event which aims to bring members of the ministry together to enliven the mosque with blessings and remembrance of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
