How Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is “Leaning Into Motherhood” After Welcoming Baby Aurora

Gypsy Rose Blanchard shared a sweet update on how she’s embracing her new role as a mom after she and Ken Urker welcomed their baby daughter Aurora.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is hitting the books.

The 33-year-old and boyfriend Ken Urker welcomed their first baby together, a daughter named Aurora, at the end of 2024, and since then Gypsy is embracing everything there is to know about becoming a mother.

Take, for instance, her newest reading material.

In a post shared to her Instagram Story Jan. 16, Gypsy shared an image of a book titled What to Expect the First Year, which as a blurb on the front cover reads, “The new baby bible: an all-in-one, month-by-month guide that explains everything you need to know about that amazing first year with baby.”

Gypsy wrote over the image, alongside a baby emoji, “Leaning into motherhood in 2025.”

Since welcoming her daughter on Dec. 28—exactly one year after her early release from prison where she was serving time for her role in her mom Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard's 2015 murder—Gypsy has shared the occasional glimpse into her first few weeks with Aurora.

But within reason. While Gypsy has shared updates on her own postpartum recovery—including that she was “feeling more energized” almost a week after giving birth—she’s been careful with how much she’s shared about Aurora. And, as she noted, she and Ken aren’t planning to share everything with the world.

“To everyone asking, No, I will not be posing pictures of Aurora,” the My Time to Stand author—who rekindled her relationship with ex-fiancé Ken after her split from husband Ryan Anderson— wrote on her Instagram Story Jan. 5. “I understand everyone’s excitement and we appreciate the support, but we value the privacy and safety of our daughter.”

She added, “We continue to express love towards our supporters and thank you for following our journey.”

Prior to welcoming Aurora—which Ken described as “the greatest gift of all” in the couple’s Jan. 1 birth announcement—Gypsy reflected on the type of mother she hoped to be for her daughter, given how she was raised.

"I have so much to focus on, making sure that I'm healthy for this baby," she told Good Morning America in July. "There’s this tiny little life that is inside of you and that little tiny life is a baby, a little tiny human that’s yours and that you have to make sure you protect, you love, you take care of, and all of the things that I wished I could’ve had when I was little.”

She continued, “All the things that I wanted in a mother, I’m going to give to this baby."
