The Magistrate's Court yesterday read out 46 charges against a Malaysian couple of cheating people into parting with their cars. No plea was taken from the defendants as the duo asked for time to consider.

Chief Magistrate Muhammed Faisal bin Pehin Dato Kefli gave Wong Soon Teck and Rannie Labu a week to consider their pleas and fixed the case for next mention on December 14.

The couple were arrested on the late afternoon of November 18 by the CID police in Miri, Sarawak.

DPP Yvonne Lim's 46 charges against the duo carry a penalty of seven years'imprisonment and fine for each defendant.
