In conjunction with the 41st Brunei Darussalam National Day Celebration, the Ministry of Education through the Department of Co-Curricular Education and the Department of Private Education in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports held a Miniature Flag Distribution Ceremony and 'Semarak Pengibaran Bendera' Programme for primary and secondary schools as well as higher education institutions. It was held simultaneously in all four districts.

The main focus of the event was at Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School in Tutong District. The distribution was officiated by Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Doctor Dayang Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education.

In Belait District, the event was held at Chung Hua Middle School, Kuala Belait. The flag distribution was officiated by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Md. Salleh bin Haji Othman, Member of the Legislative Council.

Puni Primary School was the main focus of the event in Temburong District. The distribution of miniature flags was officiated by Yang Berhormat Haji Awang Sulaiman bin Haji Nasir, Member of the Legislative Council.

Meanwhile in Brunei Muara District, the event was held at Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA with the distribution of the miniature flags officiated by Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary For Higher Education at the Ministry of Education.

The miniature flag distribution ceremony was also held at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School. The flags were distributed by Awang Haji Shamshol bin Haji Omar, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
