A cleaning campaign at the markets and surrounding areas was conducted by the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Department who gathered traders from markets such as Gerai Tudung Saji, Pasarneka Kuala Belait, Pasar Lama, Gerai Bunga Simpur and Gerai Bunga Rambai as well as several government agencies including Belait District Office, Public Works Department and Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

The work which involved activities such as grass-cutting, cleaning the drainage, tree-cutting and maintenance of roads aimed to promote awareness on sharing responsibility of maintaining cleanliness, especially among the traders and the public.

The department urged the public not to litter and said it will continue to carry out inspections to detect any offences.

The department thanked all those involved in making yesterday's cleaning campaign a success and hoped that such effort will continue in the future.
