Microsoft (B) Sdn Bhd organised a full-day discovery session yesterday for Microsoft Azure, a growing collection of integrated cloud services.

The discovery session took place at the SEAMEO Voctech Regional Centre, and gave invited participants the opportunity to learn what Microsoft Azure has to offer.

Azure's integrated cloud services include computing, database, mobile, networking, storage and web - all for moving faster, achieving more and saving money.

The proceedings saw presentations from Danial Azizan Henry, Territory Manager, SMS&P for Microsoft (B) Sdn Bhd, and Tu Dang, a Premier Field Engineer from Microsoft.

The discovery session focused on showcasing the versatility of Azure, and discussed how Azure can be implemented immediately and how it can work seamlessly with existing tools and infrastructure.

Yesterday's session began with an introduction to Azure, before continuing with overviews of cloud storage and data solutions as well as networking options and features.

Discussions then shifted to how the Azure Active Directory can be used for identity and access control, as well as how leverage Azure for disaster recovery and backup. The morning part of the session then came to a close with topics on the Azure usage portal and billing, and Azure solutions.

The afternoon segment focused on storage and backup on Azure, along with topics on extending your datacentre with virtual machines (VMs) on Azure, identity on Azure (including multi-factor authentication) and Azure app services.

A final session on Microsoft Azure will be conducted today at the same venue, and will focus on the topics covered on yesterday afternoon's segment.
